(0.5 to 1 day)
You have seen kids play video games, but have you observed how they look with their “game face” on? They are focused and highly engaged, eagerly working their way towards leveling up, unlocking an achievement or finishing a quest.
Can’t they do the same thing in the classroom… or better yet, in real life?
Gamification is the process of using the concept, design and elements of gaming in a non-gaming environment, and there’s no better place to gamify than the classroom. Because today’s children are tech-savvy and have wandering minds, giving them a sense of “play” in school gets them hooked in the learning process.
Whether it’s video games, parlor games, board games or street games, games encourage behaviors of persistence, attention to detail, risk-taking and problem solving, all of which should be ideally demonstrated in the classroom.

In this workshop, the participants WILL play! We will be playing games so that the teachers’ creativity will be ignited as to how they can use those in teaching their own lessons.
