The VoiceMaster Speaking on Voice Care and Gen Z to ESL Teachers

On June 26-28, 2015, the VoiceMaster was invited to do a Voice Care workshop and be a plenary speaker in the English and Education Conference for Professionals 2015, held at the STI Events Place in San Vicente, Tarlac.

Organized by the International TESOL Education and Consultancy Corporation (ITECC), the conference was a combination of plenary talks, workshops and demo-teaching that showcases 21st century training methodologies and principles.

On the last day of the conference, Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales facilitated a Voice Care for Teachers mini-workshop in the morning, teaching over 100 teachers about the science of taking care of the voice. He also discussed how voice acting skills can help in effective teaching in the modern classroom.

After lunch, he came up on stage as a plenary speaker, speaking about one of his expertise “Understanding the Generation Z”. He spoke about the different behaviors and lifestyle of the young people of today, and the influence of technology in their daily routine. The talk about Generation Z helped the teachers to understand their students, and learned ideas on how to engage their students better in class.

The VoiceMaster Educating Teachers on Today’s Youth and Voice Care

Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales, together with Voice Care Philippines’ Executive Director Ada Cuaresma, shared their expertise once again to about 150 teachers during the launch of “Creative Ako! Educators Congress” school caravan launch on June 12, 2015 at the San Andres Sports Complex, Manila.

The VoiceMaster introduced the Generation Z to the teachers, the young people who dominate the classrooms of today. He explained their lifestyle, behaviors and mindset, and how their lives are built around the social media and the internet. He also gave tips and techniques on how to handle them in the classroom.

Ada then did a mini-workshop on Voice Care for Teachers. She explained the challenges and demands for the teacher’s voice in the classroom. She then gave exercises to help improve posture and breathing, and also gave voice care tips.

​The workshop ended with 3 teachers sharing their experiences having voice problems in their profession.

Voice Care for Teachers in the University of the Assumption

Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales, together with Voice Care Executive Director Ada Cuaresma conducted the Voice Care for Teachers workshop as part of the In-service training of the University of the Assumption, Pampanga on June 1, 2015.

About 300 teachers gathered to learn about how to take care of their most valuable teaching asset. The 2-hour workshop started with the VoiceMaster talking about the Generation Z – the youth of this generation that make up majority of the classroom population. He explained the different behaviors and lifestyle of these young people, so that the teachers can understand their students better.

This was followed by Voice Care Philippines’ Executive Director, Ada Cuaresma, who tackled the subject of vocal health. Ada discussed the threats and vocal demands being placed on the teacher’s voice. She also had the class perform exercises to practice and experience the process.

Towards the end of the workshop, the floor was given to the teachers to share their own stories of having voice problems as part of their vocation. The Voice Care team also announced their upcoming book, “Voice Care for Teachers” written by none other than the VoiceMaster.
